Improvement of the properties of polyarylate reinforced with liquid crystalline polymers

Blends of polyarylate of bisphenol A, PAr, with two commercial main chain liquid crystalline polymers, Vectra A950 and Vectra B950, are studied. From dynamic viscoelastic measurements it is deduced that both systems (PAr/Vectra A950 and PAr/Vectra B950) are immiscible and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) micrographs show the presence of spherical domains of the liquid crystalline polymer when PAr constitutes the matrix. Extrusion capillary measurements reveal that, under conditions of temperature and shear rate similar to those of processing, the viscosity is reduced to approximately 10% of its value when the content of liquid crystalline polymer is only 20%. This great improvement of the rheological properties is observed in both PAr/Vectra A950 and PAr/Vectra B950 blends. The effect of draw ratio on Young's modulus for different compositions is also analyzed, pointing out the reinforcing action of both liquid crystalline polymers on polyarylate: for instance, 20% of Vectra B950 in the blend gives rise to a 700% increase of the modulus of fibres prepared at a draw ratio of 50. SEM of the extrudates reveals that the spherical domains are elongated at the entrance of the capillary giving rise to a microfibrillar morphology which is related to the excellent rheological and mechanical properties of the blends.     

Synthesis of perfluoroheptanal by ozonolysis of perfluoro-1-octene

A 24-GHz Patch Array with a Power Amplifier/Low-Noise Amplifier MMIC

This paper presents an active patch array designed at 24 GHz. It can be used as a front-end component for a phased array. A series resonant array structure is chosen which is compact and easy excite. With 5 elements, the array proved a 12-dB antenna gain. A power amplifier and a low noise amplifier are designed on a single GaAs chip (PALNA). Bias switch is used in the PALNA, which greatly reduces the switch loss in a transceiver and increases the efficiency. 20-dB small signal gain is achieved in both power amplifier and low noise amplifier. The active patch array is built by the combination of the patch array and PALNA. The measured active gain of this antenna is 35-dB for the PA mode and 31-dB for the LNA mode. This active patch array can obtain an EIRP of 34 dBm with a total radiated power of 22dBm and a maximum PAE of 32%. To check the noise performance, we applied sources at both normal temperature and 77K (liquid nitrogen) and extracted the noise figure (3.5 dB) of the active antenna by the Y factor method. The results proved that the active antenna is working efficiently as both a transmitting and receiving antenna.     

A Diepoxide Belonging to the Rare C1 Point Group

2,6- and 2,7-Dimethylanthracenes were reduced seriatim with lithium in liquid ammonia and lithium in methylamine to their 1,4,5,8,9,10-hexahydro derivatives. Two-fold epoxidation of these tetraenes provided the cis and trans diepoxides resulting from electrophilic attack at the inner double bonds. Trans diepoxide 1 has the very unusual characteristic of lacking a σ plane of symmetry but possessing an inversion center. As a consequence, the ¹H NMR spectrum of C₁-symmetric 1 is simplified relative to those of its isomers 5, 9, and 10.     

林杏琴会堂的音质分析及改进设想

采用精密声级计和双通道声学分析仪，对林杏琴会堂的声场分布、噪声本底和混响时间作了分区测试，应用建筑声学理论对会堂的音质状况进行了分析，并提出改善会堂音质的若干建议．     

辽河冷家油田特稠油降粘剂LJVR-1及其性能评价

采用荧光法测定了辽河冷家油田冷47-556井特稠油乳化HLB值,然后以混合型表面活性剂、非离子型表面活性剂为主剂,快速渗透剂为辅剂按一定比例制备了水基降粘剂LJVR-1.实验结果表明,该降粘剂具有良好的乳化降粘性能,开采后易于破乳脱水,是一种较为理想的特稠油降粘剂.     

光学扫描全息术中的孪生像噪音及消除

阐述了光学扫描全息术的基本原理,分析了孪生像噪音的来源,提出了一种新的数字滤波方法.计算机仿真结果表明:孪生像噪音以振荡形式传播,降低了重构图像的信噪比,影响了重构图像的分辨率;用电子复用技术,即用复全息图函数代替实全息图函数的方法可以有效地消除孪生像噪音;采用单一通道对信号进行处理,即只用一个实全息图函数,通过数字滤波方法同样可以消除孪生像噪音,该方法简便、实用而有效.     

Performance of noise barriers with various edge shapes and acoustical conditions

The performances of barriers having different shapes and surface conditions were tested using the boundary element method in a well-controlled environment. The heights and widths of the barriers were standardized and the insertion losses for six receiver positions were averaged and compared. Figures displaying the results allow for straightforward barrier performance estimation. It was shown that absorbing and soft edges significantly improve the efficiency of the barrier, but configuration modifications provide only a slight improvement. The soft T-shaped barrier produces the highest performance. A 3 m high T-shaped barrier provides the same performance as a 10 m high plain barrier. The spectral efficiency was also investigated. The insertion loss spectra for the absorbing and the soft barriers exhibit a similar shape, but the rigid barrier differs from these two.     

Sequential Estimation of the Parameters in a Trigonometric Regression Model with the Gaussian Coloured Noise

This paper considers the estimation problem for a trigonometric regression model with the noise specified by the Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process with unknown parameter. We propose a sequential procedure which ensures a prescribed mean square precision uniformly in the nuisance parameter. The asymptotic behaviour of the procedure duration mean has been studied. A new method for the reduction of nitronyl nitroxides
